WHY is 'Measure C' - DEFECTIVE  ???

Missing - ANY analysis of the OTHER Cities, called "comparable" in the Staff Report, without ANY explanation of what "comparable" is to mean!

Missing - ANY analysis of the two positions, to show if merging would give the City ANY benefit AT ALL !

Missing - ANY Study or ANY support at all, for the claim of a "possible $300K in savings" !!!!

Missing - ANY study, analysis, or chance for input,  from the Treasurer or Treasurer's dept. !!

Missing - ANY requirement for "conflict of interest" protections- (The original reasons for SEPARATING the positions!) - Staff merely notes that this "could be" put in a merger proposal!

Well, SURELY  Measure C MUST have some requirement that all the Missing  items above, be part of  any future Council decision before taking action?

NOPE! --- NO requirement AT ALL!

The Council Majority was asked by the Mayor, to SPLIT,

the  Treasurer - related items into a separate measure, for better Public Visibility and Discussion -

                            WHAT  HAPPENNED ??

THEY SAT ON THEIR HANDS --- AND DID  NOTHING !!

STOP - This DEFECTIVE attempt to BYPASS THE VOTERS!

STOP - This attempt to WEAKEN CONFLICT-OF-INTEREST                             PROTECTIONS NOW IN THE CHARTER!

VOTE "NO" on "C", to DEMAND an HONEST CHOICE in                                    NOVEMBER, and PROOF of ANY BENEFITS,

                     BEFORE a Charter Change !!!!!

June 3rd

NO on C

DON'T turn OUR City Charter into GARBAGE !

Buried in the sack YOU WILL BE LEFT HOLDING, along with trivial gender and punctuation 'cleanups', are two proposals that are NEITHER trivial, NOR 'cleanups', that would push selection of the City Treasurer  FURTHER OUT of the Public view, by allowing APPOINTMENT by the (NON-Elected!) City Manger, ERASING the current Charter rule requiring City Council selection in an OPEN PROCESS, and GO FURTHER, to allow the Council BY ITSELF to consolidate the Treasurer position with the Finance Director WITHOUT A PUBLIC VOTE.

WHAT COULD BE WRONG HERE? After all, this came from the folks on the Charter Review Commission, right?

Well, APPROVING it to be ON the Ballot for YOUR choice, IS NOT THE SAME as judging the merits or faults of the proposal ITSELF!  YOU can (AND SHOULD) JUDGE those FOR YOURSELF, by examining the materials they were GIVEN by City Staff, at the City web links below, and MORE IMPORTANTLY, the materials they WERE NOT GIVEN, in the tables below-

LEARN - before You  VOTE !

THE REAL STINK IS HIDDEN INSIDE !!
